Michael Warech, Ph.D.

Human Capital Practice Leader

Michael has over 35 years of experience designing, developing, and implementing data-driven human capital solutions that demonstrably impact an organization’s bottom line.  Over his career he has led numerous projects for a variety of Fortune 500 organizations, as well as small and mid-sized companies, including many in the pharmaceuticals, life sciences, and medical device sectors.  Clients have included Pfizer, Bristol Myers Squibb, Merck, J&J, Astra Zeneca, Novartis, Zoetis, Novo Nordisk,  Boehringer Ingelheim, Bayer, Amgen, Capsugel, Lonza, Stryker, Seimens Healthineers, and INO Therapeutics.

An accomplished human capital strategist, thought leader, and organizational effectiveness practitioner, his work has focused on the design, development, and implementation of strategic talent management, leadership development, and organizational effectiveness initiatives. Michael is known as a trusted advisor, partnering with C-Suite and senior executive teams to optimize leadership, talent, and organizational capability.

Prior to founding Warech Associates LLC in 2008, Dr. Warech served as Watson Wyatt’s (now Willis Towers Watson) North American Organization Effectiveness Practice Leader. There, in addition to his client work and practice leadership duties, he was responsible for designing and managing Watson Wyatt’s groundbreaking Human Capital Index® (HCI) research which resulted in the 2002 book entitled, The Human Capital Edge.

Michael also served as lead Learning Solutions Architect for Harvard Business Publishing’s Corporate Learning Group. In this capacity, he designed and implemented cutting-edge learning and leadership development programming for a myriad of target audiences across all industry sectors, addressing organizations’ critical human capital needs. Earlier in his career, he served as a senior consultant for several boutique human capital firms located in the New York metropolitan area.

Most recently, Michael served as Managing Director for Centri Business Consulting, where he was retained to stand up an HR Advisory practice with responsibilities for growth strategy, P&L, service offerings, interdisciplinary solutions, business development, marketing, and talent management.

Michael has published book chapters and papers in leading peer review journals and has presented his work in the areas of talent management, leadership development, HR transformation, metrics and analytics, and organizational measurement at global and national conferences.

Throughout his career, Michael has been sought out for his expert opinions on issues in the workplace and has been quoted in newspapers, magazines, and websites including the Washington Post, The Miami Herald, The Chicago Tribune, The Baltimore-Sun Times, USA Today, Crain’s, Workforce Management magazine, HR Executive Magazine, Inc. , and CBS Marketwatch.

Michael completed his undergraduate work at Emory University and received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Applied Psychology from Stevens Institute of Technology.
