Background and Challenge

The international division of a global pharmaceutical company sought to create a Premier Employer strategy to attract and develop talent. WLH provided partnership to design the strategy and worked with Human Resources leadership to implement the strategy globally.

Approach and Deliverables

To enhance the overall human capital effort, WLH analyzed the current situation and developed a comprehensive set of recommendations. The client endorsed the key recommendations which included revamping the performance management processes, competency models, and development tools.

WLH also designed and deployed a 360 assessment to gather data on population development needs, then designed and deployed a suite of Just-in-Time Leader-Led learning tools to facilitate a timely, cost-effective development solution that addressed client needs and logistical constraints. The 360 results also became input to the future selection of talent for key country roles. To reduce turnover, WLH leveraged its Rx for Retention Predictor Model for use in individual markets.

Results

The premier employer strategy was successfully rolled out throughout the European, Asian, Middle East, and Latin American regions. The core principles of the performance management and talent development efforts are still in place today.
