In this final installment of WLH’s four-part series, today’s podcast focuses on organizational actions to advance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I). It builds on the insight that many organizations’ commitments and actions fall along a spectrum — from awareness of challenges to actively driving culture change. Once organizational practices are assessed, it’s time to move to thoughtful, deliberate action.
In today’s podcast, I reinforce the principle, that “change takes place on three levels – (1) at the organizational level, (2) at the team level, and (3) at the individual level.” Throughout the podcast I will share specific action steps to consider that will help you and your organization develop a more inclusive culture.
At the organizational level – there will be specific guidance with regard to defining values, evaluating talent development policies and practices, and committing resources to develop diverse employees, especially women of color.
At the team level, practical actions are provided for people managers to put in place with their own team. Lastly, the focus turns to supporting individual awareness of bias as well as behavior change for employees and what they need to start, stop, and continue doing to create a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusivity.
As always, our goal is to support you and your organization to Change and Thrive!
